This course reviews the development of international peace initiatives. By focusing on modern warfare and its nature, the course will highlight the limit and dilemma of international peace attempts, especially the UN-led peace operations. Classes will combine both lecture and presentations/discussion. The students are expected to: 1) research assigned topics before class or write a short essay after class, and 2)be willing to participate in discussion in class. |
