CHADO, the Way of Tea, is at the heart of traditional Japanese culture. It is a spiritual discipline based on the four principles of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquillity. In learning how to make and serve a bowl of tea with one’s heart, one is able to cultivate these principles in his life. This course is an introduction to Chado and offers a first-hand experience toward understanding the Japanese culture. This course aims at giving students the real experience of Japanese traditional tea ceremony. |
