This course addresses the supply chain management and strategy for manufacturing and retailing firms. The subjects covered are Just-in-Time manufacturing and continuous improvement, quality management, supply chain dynamics, supplier management, supply chain management of fashion products and groceries, and supply chain risk management. Special attentions are placed on how Japanese firms approach supply chain management issues. After completing this course, students should be able to understand the essence of manufacturing and retailing operations and analyze the firm’s operations from a view point of its supply chain. |
