This course will take a comprehensive look at the sustainable development, from the history of environmental problems to the application of sustainable development to international development and cooperation. Particular emphasis will be placed on using social capacity development approach as a base to examine the relationship between development and environment in the developing countries. Furthermore, this course will be focused on evaluation theory and environmental economics for analyzing and evaluating policies, programs, and projects for sustainable development. This course consists of 4 parts; introduction, development problems and development policies, development aid and cooperation, social capacity development, and evaluation theory. Around 4 hours (2 +2) are necessary for preparation and review of this class. Students have to research, to collect, and to read relevant materials. |
