The most important means for communication are the languages that we use everyday, like Japanese and English. In general, an application of computer to processing languages is called computational linguistics. This course will focus on many of the core technologies and techniques used in computational linguistics, ranging from part-of-speech tagging, syntactic parsing to computational semantics and discourse. |
