This course is designed to develop oral and writing skills needed to communicate with other scholars in English for students who have some experience in academic settings or substantial experience of English communication in non-academic settings. Students will practice presentation, discussion, and writing correspondence through copying models, writing on their own, and organizing a mock panel discussion. This is not a lecture course and students’ active participation in writing, presenting, and discussing is essential to the success of the course. They are required to participate in academic discussions as well as talk and write about their research. |
