This module, taught jointly by Daniel Nettle and Sinead Mullally, explores contemporary scientific research on stable psychological differences between people. This includes individual differences in personality, in intelligence, and in memory. The module is based on very recent literature and has a strong emphasis on questions of method (how do we validly measure individual differences?), as well as the origins of individual differences. The part of the module on personality is designed to be a more advanced treatment of the topic than you will have encountered in stage 1 if you have already had a personality module; there should be very little repetition of material you are already familiar with. |
